Last call for Meropa’s running shoes collection campaign
New and pre-loved running shoes in a good condition will be given to several beneficiaries who cannot afford a pair of their own.
POLOKWANE – In January, Meropa Casino & Entertainment World collaborated with Mahube Social Partners in a running shoe collection campaign.
So far, 90 pairs have been collected and with the deadline looming, Meropa is making a last call to the public to make donations with the last day for drop offs on April 15.
The initiative asks for the donation of new and pre-loved running shoes in good condition with the aim of promoting the benefits of an active lifestyle to the local community who cannot afford running shoes.
Mahube Social Partners, a non-profit company focused on addressing social challenges has identified the Moletji Athletics Club, the Fitness For All Athletics Team, Pula Madibogo, Makgefola, Megoring and Diopong rimary schools and Hwiti and Ramashobohle high schools, as beneficiaries.
Meropa general manager Sammy Mokhele encouraged visitors as well as their staff to bring their gently-loved or even a brand-new pair of running shoes to the donation boxes.
Addresses for the drop-offs include:
Meropa Casino & Entertainment World
Polokwane Athletics Club
Mercurius Motors Polokwane
Modimolle Mall
