Polokwane mayor wishes granny football team well in Mauritius

John Mpe, a staunch advocate for community empowerment through sports, took the opportunity to wish the team well on their upcoming journey.

POLOKWANE – The Mayor of Polokwane John Mpe met with the Mankweng Ladies Football Club as they prepare to embark on a remarkable journey to Mauritius to launch elderly ladies’ football in the country.

The team is expected to leave the country on April 26 and return in May.

Mpe, a staunch advocate for community empowerment through sports, took the opportunity to wish the team well on their upcoming journey with heartfelt encouragement.

He presented the team with four footballs and a complete soccer kit, courtesy of the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the team’s cause by arranging transport to ensure a smooth journey to and fro the airport.

As Mankweng Ladies Football Club prepares to depart for Mauritius they carry with them not only the Mayor’s tangible support but also the collective hopes and aspirations of their community.

Their journey transcends borders, uniting hearts through the universal language of football.
