Noorderland’s Kgaume is a proud peer promoter

Kgaume Pitseng explained that she became a peer promoter because she wanted to contribute towards helping for a good cause.

POLOKWANE – Kgaume Pitseng is a proud peer promoter at Noorderland High School.

At the school’s recent blood drive, the Gr 11 learner can be seen being proactive and assisting as people come in to donate blood.

Kgaume has been a peer promoter since Gr 9, a responsibility that she takes tremendous pride in.

She explained that she became a peer promoter because she wanted to contribute towards helping for a good cause.

Pitseng is unable to donate blood but she finds comfort in being able to help others make the brave decision to do so.

She explained that some of her responsibilities as a peer promoter include creating awareness around blood drives and encouraging her fellow learners to donate blood.

“On the day of the blood drive, we help with sitting the clients down, helping them to register, giving them water and keep the process moving smoothly throughout the day,” she said.

The peer promoters also offer emotional support to the people who come to donate, especially for those donating for the first time.
