New PEMPS choir looks forward to continued success
The choir, formed last year, has excelled and achieved huge success in eisteddfods and other contests.
POLOKWANE – The Pietersburg English Medium Primary School choir’s dedication is yielding impressive results.
Formed last year, this choir of Gr 1-7 learners has excelled in various competitions.
Teachers Bellinda Collins and Asnath Shadung, along with conductor Elmarie Swanepoel from Swan Music Academy, guide the choir.
Despite being a new group, they have achieved huge success in eisteddfods and other contests.
“Our main goal in forming the choir was to find students with a genuine love for music,” said Collins.
“While being able to hold a note is important, passion for singing was our top priority. For many children, the choir provides an escape and a source of joy.”
Shadung explained that practice sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 14:00 to 15:00, where learners’ talents are nurtured. They have also identified soloists who will compete in individual categories.
The teachers are proud of the students’ progress and look forward to continued growth and success.
