Limpopo man arrested for alleged rape of two minors (8)

The victims are said to have gone to the suspect's house for help with a school project when he took advantage of them.

LIMPOPO – A man accused of raping two minor children (8) will appear before the Dennilton Magistrate’s Court today on two charges of rape.

The suspect (43) was arrested in Tambo village on Saturday after the community acted swiftly in apprehending the man.

The complainant alleges she was at home when her uncle arrived and informed her that his daughter was raped.

“Upon talking to the victim, she was told that the known suspect lured her and her friend into his house and raped them. The two children went to the suspects house in need of assistance with a school project and he took advantage of them. The police were notified and two counts of rape were opened. The suspect was locked up for his shameful actions,” police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the arrest of the suspect and further praised the community for their assistance.

“Police investigations continue,” Ledwaba concluded.
