Foreign national in court for dealing drugs in Penina Park

CAT, heroine and crystal meth worth R25k was confiscated after a tip off lead to the arrest of a foreigner suspected of dealing drugs in Penina Park.

POLOKWANE – A 40-year-old foreign national will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today on possession and dealing in drugs charges following his arrest on Tuesday.

The man was arrested by the provincial organised crime unit following a tip off about the suspect delivering drugs near Waterland in Penina Park.

“The information suggested the suspect was driving a grey sedan with Limpopo registration. The unit drove to the specified location and spotted the vehicle parked on the side of the road,” police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.

“Officers found smaller plastic bags containing illicit drugs that included CAT, heroine, rock and crystal meth. The suspect was arrested and the drugs, with an estimated street value of R25 000 was confiscated,” he said.

Ledwaba added that police investigations continue.
