Female foreigner (39) arrested for murder of boyfriend

A foreign male was found with stab wounds to his upper body outside his house over the past weekend and his girlfriend was arrested in connection with his murder.

LIMPOPO – A female foreigner (39) has been arrested in connection with the death of her boyfriend in Freedom Park in Phagameng in the Modimolle policing area.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the couple went to a local tavern last Saturday when the victim left the suspect there and went home.

The victim was found with stab wounds to his upper body outside their house the following day.

“The police were notified together with paramedics and the victim was certified dead on arrival. A case of murder was opened.”

Ledwaba says preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the suspect as the investigation showed that her and the victim had a heated conversation the previous night.

“The suspect and the victim are both foreign nationals. The suspect will appear before the local magistrate’s court soon while investigations continue,” he adds.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident and reiterates for romantic partners to seek professional counselling when they experience challenges in their relationship.
