Limpopo man arrested for alleged rape of two minors

The mother of one of the children found in nearby bushes with other children said a naked child confirmed she was raped by the suspect.

LIMPOPO – A 22-year-old man appeared before the Mutale Magistrate’s Court yesterday on two charges of rape following his arrest last Friday afternoon (November 15).

The man was arrested for allegedly raping two minor children, aged three and four in the Mafukani village in the Vhembe District.

According to the Limpopo police, the victim’s mother was at home when she noticed her child going to nearby bushes and she became suspicious.

The woman followed her child and found her with other children.

She found the suspect sexually assaulting one of the children and confronted him about what he was doing before he fled the scene.

“One of the children was found naked and when asked why she was naked, the child confirmed that she had been raped by the suspect,” police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.

He added that both children were taken to the nearest clinic and were transferred to the closest hospital, where penetration was confirmed.

“The incident was reported to the police, and the suspect was traced and arrested. Police investigations continue,” he said.
