Ace Models Limpopo thrives under new management

Ace Models Limpopo Central, under new management, shines at nationals, prepares models for success, and plans provincial expansion.

POLOKWANE – Ace Models Limpopo Central is thriving under its new management, Natalie and Cathy Loots, who took over the branch in June.

Just a few months into their leadership, they made a strong impression by taking 28 models to the Ace Models National Conference at Emerald Casino in October, joining over 20 other branches from across the country.

The results were impressive, with three models achieving success. Mignon Scott won the Mini Photographic category, Luther de Bruin took home the title of Beginner Runway Model for ages 16-19, and Dzata Sikhwivhilu placed in the top five for Beginner Pageant Model for ages 12-15.

The national conference provided a valuable opportunity for models to showcase their talent, as scouts from modelling agencies attended to discover fresh faces.

Natalie said that models from Limpopo face a unique challenge since there are no modelling agencies in the province, “they have to travel to Gauteng to be scouted”.

Ace Models aims to address this by preparing models for success, training them to excel not only on the runway but also in front of the camera, as social media influencers, or even in broadcasting. Their programme also includes public speaking, self-confidence and self-image.

The weekend-long conference featured runway castings, a Saturday pageant casting, and a Miss Body Beautiful contest on Sunday, which was open to women aged 26 and older and men aged 20 and older. The event concluded with a showcase of dancing, a pageant, motivational speakers and a prize-giving ceremony.

Currently, Ace Models Limpopo Central offers classes in Polokwane three times a week – on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays – and in Tzaneen once a week.

They have also started working with Myngenoegen English Primary School to help learners improve their public speaking skills. Natalie and Cathy are expanding their reach, with plans to establish branches in Mokopane and Louis Trichardt by April.

Registrations for 2025 are now open, and the branch’s open day will take place during the Mall of the North Club Day.
