Heatwave as temperatures soar in Polokwane

A heatwave is expected to grip Polokwane throughout the week, with a warning from SAWS as temperatures soar to extreme highs.

POLOKWANE – The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for a heatwave throughout Limpopo until Wednesday, December 04, however, Polokwane is expected to experience these conditions until further into the week.

According to the latest weather forecast, Monday will see a high of 33°C, setting the stage for a scorching week ahead.

Tuesday is expected to be breezy in the morning, with cloudy and hot conditions prevailing throughout the day, reaching a high of 34°C.

Temperatures are expected to rise significantly from Wednesday to Friday, with temperatures reaching a sweltering 36°C each day. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this heat wave. This includes staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

Saturday will see a slight drop, with a high of 35°C before temperatures ease to 30°C on Sunday.

Evening temperatures are expected to range between 17°C and 20°C.
