Noordskool hosts trolley race fundraiser

Noordskool's annual trolley race fundraiser brings fun and excitement to the last day of school, supporting infrastructure upgrades and needy families.

POLOKWANE – To end the academic year on an exciting note, Laerskool Pietersburg Noord (Noordskool) hosted their annual trolley race on Friday, which was also celebrated as the last day of school.

Dressed in fun and funky superhero, cowboy, animal and colourful costumes according to the theme they were given, Gr 1 to Gr 7 learners were armed with trolleys, ready to take on the obstacles that were set up on the school grounds.

Principal Greg Schoeman told Review that the proceeds of the day will go to better infrastructure at the school.

“We try our best to host fundraising events such as these, to supplement school fees and ultimately improve the school in every way we can. We plan to install water pumps, put up a safer fence and look at alternative energy solutions for learning to continue regardless of power interruptions.”

Needy families will also benefit from the day’s proceeds, he added.

The school’s teachers joined in the fun as they too dressed according to the theme with their learners.
