Polokwane entrepreneur named finalist in Foya

Jay Nkosi, founder of JNW Wine SA, recognised as Founder of the Year Award finalist for entrepreneurial excellence and innovative spirit.

POLOKWANE – Jay Nkosi, the founder of JNW Wine SA, has been recognised as a finalist in the prestigious Founder of the Year Awards (Foya).

This acknowledgement highlights Nkosi’s dedication to entrepreneurship and his contributions to the development of the African continent.

The awards exist to celebrate young founders who navigate challenges to build brands and create employment. Unlike traditional awards for seasoned entrepreneurs, their mission is to honour emerging, often unsung talent shaping the future through innovation and hard work.

Moranga Innocent, CEO and founder of FOYA, shared the inspiration behind the awards.

“I believed young people could make a difference and change the world. Foya was founded to recognise and empower those who face daunting challenges but persevere to establish their place in the market.”

Nkosi was specifically recognised for his renowned wine brand and his efforts to promote it through the Ultimate Wine Experience Festival, an annual event that has become a staple in Polokwane and surrounding areas.

Innocent praised Nkosi, saying his support and dedication have been truly inspiring. “We are honoured to celebrate his achievements and look forward to his continued success.”

Nkosi told Polokwane Observer that he’s beyond grateful for being nominated.

“Some advice for my fellow aspiring business people; don’t sacrifice who you could be, for who you are. Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard and sacrifice, and above all, don’t let anyone limit your dreams. Great achievement always requires great sacrifice.”

Nkosi’s nomination serves as a testament to his journey and contributions to entrepreneurship in Africa. For more information on the awards and to vote, visit foya.africa/express-vote.
