Wavhududi Gymnastics honours best gymnasts
Wavhududi Gymnastics Club celebrated a successful year with an end-of-year competition and awards ceremony, recognising top performers.
LIMPOPO – The Wavhudis Gymnastics Club held their end of the year club competition at the Thulamela Indoor Sports Centre on November 30.
Their gymnasts performed well during the regional, provincial and national competitions throughout 2024 and several received awards for their achievements during the year.
According to the team coach, Angel Mulaudzi, the gymnasts all performed well and they therefore decided to motivate them with floating trophies.
“We have a winning formula, which is practice, practice, and practice! We are truly celebrating the success that has come through hard work,” she said.
Mulaudzi said it was not always smooth sailing, but that they managed to reach the national finals against all odds.
She attributed all the accolades the team received to discipline and dedication by the players and the manner in which the team was managed.
Mulaudzi has been the team’s head coach for two years. She said the gymnasts did not take long to get used to her coaching style.
“The club does not have many members, but the young gymnasts are motivated to do well. Despite lacking the facilities that other clubs have, the team’s determination remains unwavering.”
She applauded those who received awards. “You are the ambassadors of the team,” she said.
Gymnasts who received awards during the event are Tsitsidzashe Charema (best rhythmic beginner+), Abigail Tshikovhi (best pre-level gymnast), Amira Nematali (best attendance), Marandela Rambuwani (best artistic gymnast of the year), Zoë Minnaar (most enthusiastic junior gymnast), Tinashe Nematali (best attendance and most improved artistic gymnast).
