Laerskool Ivypark hosts colour run fundraiser

Ivypark's colour run fundraiser brought together parents, children, and the community for a fun-filled day of colourful excitement.

POLOKWANE – The School Governing Body of Laerskool Ivypark hosted a colour run at the school on Friday, to end off the year with an enjoyable fundraiser.

The event featured parents, children and businesspeople, all in support.

“Next year, we want to invite other schools so that we can all end the year on a high note and have fun together,” said one of the teachers and a member of the SGB, Sumari Meyer.

The colour run started at the school gate, 400m down the road with three powder colours, and curved 1,5km to Retsini Nursery and back to the school where everyone received a bottle of water and three colours of powder.

SGB members, Caroline Thema, Sithembiso Mlangeni and Pathelia Mankga.

The event saw many people participating in comfortable clothes and great spirits.

Children also had a chance to play on a jumping castle, dance and enjoy ice-cream while teachers and parents held a tug-of-war competition.

Meyer highlighted that the goal of the SGB was to have fun with family, friends and end the year in good spirit.

“The event turned out perfect. This will be a new annual fundraiser at Laerskool Ivy Park. Each year we will strive to go bigger and involve more people
in our community,” she concluded.
