Flora Park honours teachers at farewell function

Flora Park recently held a farewell function to celebrate the hard work and dedication of its teachers, awarding certificates and gifts.

POLOKWANE – Flora Park Comprehensive High School teachers held their farewell function at St Marco Estate on November 29, to celebrate the hard work they put in throughout the year.

Finance officer Lebo Moabelo thanked the school for all it has done.

“Flora Park gave me a job I thought was above my abilities, but today I can stand on my own and run the office because of their leadership. Thank you so much Flora Park, you will always be my family even when I’m not around, and thank you for the present that you all gave me,” said Moabelo.

Principal Joseph Masekela highlighted all the successes they achieved at Flora Park, to remind the teachers that their hard finally paid off.

“When I arrived at Flora Park, the enrolment figure was 799 and now we have 1 392 learners. We had only 28 teachers and now we qualify to have 42 teachers,” he said.

He also said that some former Flora Park learners are playing for big soccer teams.

Certificates were awarded to some teachers for the role they played throughout the year and making sure that their learners obtained high marks, and all the teachers were given coffee mugs as a gesture of appreciation.

“I would like to thank all the teachers and cleaners for your hard work, we see everything that you do, keep up the good work and we are here to celebrate the achievement that you all obtained throughout the year,” said Masekela.
