WATCH: The sweet taste of summer with these homemade cocktails

Relax by the pool, beach or with friends with a refreshing cocktail after a long year.

POLOKWANE – As the mercury rises and the sun beats down, there’s no better way to unwind than with a colourful cocktail in hand.

Whether you’re lounging by the pool, strolling along the beach, or simply enjoying a warm evening with friends, a cold and refreshing cocktail is the perfect way to cap off a long year.

The Polokwane Review-Observer visited the Boabab Leisure Lounge at Bolivia Lodge, where bartender extraordinaire Jim Masombuka treated us to a couple of easy-to-make cocktail recipes that are sure to become summer staples.

With his expert guidance, we learned how to craft two delicious and revitalizing cocktails that are perfect for sipping on a hot summer’s day.
From the initial sip to the last drop, these cocktails promise to quench your thirst and leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized.

So why not beat the heat this summer with a colourful cocktail in hand? Stay tuned for Jim’s expert recipes, and get ready to shake (or stir) your way to a more relaxing and enjoyable summer!

Virgin Mojito: 

 

1. Get your glass ready.
2. Pour in sweet and sour cocktail syrup.
3. Fill it with fresh mint leaves and some lime slices.
4. Pour in soda water and stir.
(For a classic Mojito you add two shots of Bicardi).

Jimmie’s special signature cocktail: 

1. Fill your glass with ice.
2. Add a shot of Sweet and Sours cocktail syrup.
3. Add half a can of Sprite.
4. Add a shot of blue cordial.
5. Add some more Sprite.
6. Add a double shot of vodka.
7. Add the rest of the Sprite.
Garnish: Umbrella, cherry and lime
