POLOKWANE – Waiting for exam results can be very stressful and lead to anxiety and depression, therefore, those waiting must find healthy ways to cope.
Every matric learner waiting for results and feeling like they are carrying the burden of the world should know that the feeling is normal and they are not alone.
It is also advisable to talk to a psychologist if they feel like the burden is too much and they cannot carry it all alone.
Here are some ways to keep yourself going through this difficult time:
-Stay positive
-Remember that anything thrown your way has a solution
-Reward yourself
-Stress can cause you to overthink, so find a way to unwind
-Find a hobby to keep yourself busy, exercising is a great way to do this as it will help relieve stress and reduce anxiety
-Find a part-time job
“Matriculants should look for productive activities to occupy their time, helping to prevent them from dwelling on negative thoughts during this uncertain period. It’s important for them to understand that regardless of the results they receive, there will always be a way to move forward, whether they pass or not,” said a student teacher, Donald Maleka.
