Limpopo man arrested in connection with 2024 murder

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim sold a Ford Ranger bakkie to the suspect, who owed an additional amount of cash to settle the payment.

LIMPOPO – A Matipane village man (42) will appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder following his arrest last Saturday (January 4).

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the deceased was found with a gunshot wound to the forehead on January 6, 2024.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim sold a Ford Ranger bakkie to the suspect, who owed an additional amount of cash to settle the payment. The deceased allegedly had an appointment with the suspect when he met his untimely death in Morwasetla village,” his statement read.

A murder case was opened and through police investigations and an intelligence driven operation in the Mopani District, the suspect was arrested.

“The arrest was carried out by members of the provincial Murder and Robbery Unit, the Tzaneen Tracking Team and the Mopani District Tracking Team. Police investigations continue.”
