Another disruptive rain warning issued for Polokwane

Rainy conditions will persist well into next week with mild to warm and humid conditions expected.

POLOKWANE – Scattered thundershowers and disruptive rainfall remains in the forecast for Polokwane today as a stormy week continues.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued another Level 2 disruptive rain warning for the city which will be in effect from 01:00 to 23:59 this evening.

A Level 2 warning suggests a high likelihood with minor impact.

The SAWS says the warning includes localised flooding of susceptible low-lying areas and bridges; the possibility of closure of low-lying roads and dirt roads; poor driving conditions due to pooling of water on roads and reduced visibility as well as localised flooding of informal and formal settlements.

Meanwhile, AccuWeather suggests a 70% chance of rain today, mainly in the evening, with considerable cloudiness, while morning thunderstorms are expected on Friday with a maximum temperature of 28°C.

A wet and humid weekend is also on the cards for Polokwane with highs of 27°C on both Saturday and Sunday as well as thunderstorms.

Rainy conditions will persist well into next week with mild to warm and humid conditions expected.
