POLOKWANE – A truck from a beverages company landed in a ditch on the N1 bypass near the Tweefontein intersection on Monday morning, seemingly after a tyre burst.

Neither the driver nor the passenger sustained visible injuries and were treated by emergency medical services staff for shock.
Towing companies, police accident response teams, and traffic officials worked to manage the scene on the busy road, which remained active until late morning, with cleanup efforts ongoing for close to four hours after the incident.
The driver told Polokwane Observer that he heard a loud noise shortly before the truck started to swerve.
Rainy and slippery road conditions may have compounded the difficulty of stabilising the vehicle, which eventually overturned.
