Vhembe high school tops in Limpopo
Mbilwi High School has been named the top-performing public school in Limpopo, achieving an 85.1% pass rate and 307 bachelor passes.
LIMPOPO – Mbilwi High School in Vhembe has once again proven its excellence by earning the title of the top-performing public school in Limpopo in the National Senior Certificate Examination. The school produced an impressive 307 bachelor passes, leading the province in this category.
The Class of 2024 achieved an 85.1% pass rate, a remarkable 5.6 percentage point improvement compared to the previous year. Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, officially announced the results during a ceremony held at The Ranch Resort outside Polokwane on January 14. In her address, Ramakhanya expressed gratitude to the parents and guardians who supported learners during the academic year. “These results are not a matter of luck but the outcome of hard work and dedication. The commitment shown by teachers in Limpopo is exemplary, and their selfless efforts are deeply appreciated,” she said.
The Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba said values such as altruism, honesty, compassion, professionalism, fairness, excellence, teamwork, and empathy are the pillars for the department’s vision. “Your achievements today reflect our collective commitment to advancing education as a key to personal and national liberation.”
Principal Cedrick Lidzhade attributed the school’s success to the dedication of teachers and learners, as well as the involvement of parents, School Governing Body members, and traditional leaders. “This collective effort has been instrumental in our achievements,” he said.
The MEC of Social Development, Florence Radzilani, presented a trophy to the principal in recognition of the school’s outstanding performance.
