Moletjie man due in Seshego court for girlfriend’s murder

Limpopo police say domestic violence cannot be ruled out in the murder of a woman (34) in Moletjie. Her boyfriend was arrested in connection with her murder.

POLOKWANE – A 55-year-old man is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (April 10) charged with the murder of his girlfriend (34) whose battered body was found on a street in Moletjie in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Limpopo police have confirmed that domestic violence cannot be ruled out following the death of the woman, who was discovered with multiple upper-body injuries in Ga-Chokoe village.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said officers were alerted just after 02:30 and rushed to the scene.

“The woman was certified dead on arrival and a murder case was opened,” his statement read.

A manhunt was immediately launched for the woman’s boyfriend, who was identified as the prime suspect.

“The suspect was traced and arrested yesterday morning Ga-Mphela village, Moletjie,” he added.

Ledwaba said the motive for the murder will be revealed through an investigation.

“The suspect remains in custody and will appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Thursday,” he said.
