Missing Polokwane learner found in Phalaborwa

Missing Polokwane teen Nathan Denbi was found safe in Phalaborwa on Friday night after days of searching in Tzaneen and surrounding areas.

POLOKWANE – The search for 13-year-old Nathan Tedwodrus Denbi has come to an end after he was found safe in Phalaborwa on Friday night (April 11).

Authorities confirmed he was found safe, though no further details about his discovery have been made public.

Nathan went missing from his home in the Aloes Estate on Wednesday morning (April 9), prompting a wide search by authorities, community members, and his family.

His school also assisted by sharing his photo and information on social media to raise awareness.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, a missing person’s case had been opened after Nathan was reported missing.

It was initially believed that Nathan may have been heading toward Makhado and Musina, and the Tzaneen Community Policing Forum (CPF) later confirmed that he had been seen in Tzaneen on Thursday.

CCTV footage showed him walking through town in the morning, and later at the bus rank near the Cash & Carry.

Despite searches, he was not located and his parents had remained in Tzaneen overnight with the help of friends and family continuing the search.
