Calls for justice after Ndzalama Mlondobozi’s death in Polokwane

A culpable homicide case has been opened after the death of Ndzalama ‘Khola’ Mlondobozi in Flora Park, who was struck by a car following a violent altercation.

POLOKWANE – Police investigations are ongoing into the death of Ndzalama ‘Khola’ Vedick Mlondobozi, who died on the evening of May 20 following an incident in Flora Park.

Polokwane police spokesperson, Capt Lesiba Ramoshaba, confirmed that a case of culpable homicide has been opened.

Mlondobozi (36) was fatally struck by a vehicle shortly after what was described as a violent altercation with a man.

The incident has drawn intense public attention, with eyewitnesses and social media users alleging that the police colluded with an alleged suspect in the case.

Calls for justice have since flooded online platforms, with claims that evidence was concealed to protect a prominent male figure.

Some posts even named and shared images of a municipal official, which Ramoshaba warned could amount to a criminal offence.

Contrary to reports that a suspect turned himself in and was released on bail, Ramoshaba clarified that no arrests or bail conditions have been effected.

He added that postmortem results were still pending as of Monday, and that the matter will be handed over to a senior public prosecutor once more evidence has been collected.

“The prosecutor will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to prosecute,” Ramoshaba said, noting that witness interviews have already taken place.

Mlondobozi was laid to rest in Tzaneen this weekend.

Family spokesperson Fifi Ndzalama urged the public to pursue justice responsibly, acknowledging the official police report while cautioning against misinformation circulating on social media.
