An early morning collision on Vermikuliet Street led to gridlocked traffic leaving many motorists frustrated and some late for work.
POLOKWANE – Traffic on Vermikuliet Street has returned to normal after an early morning collision outside the Polokwane Traffic Department caused severe congestion in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, a truck was involved in the crash, which brought traffic to a standstill along Vermikuliet Street — from Landdros Mare Street to Nelson Mandela Drive.
Motorists also experienced heavy delays on Witklip Street in Ladanna in both directions, with congestion spilling over into Mika Street as drivers attempted to find alternative routes.
One motorist told the Polokwane Review-Observer that she was stuck in traffic for more than 35 minutes.
The cause of the collision is unknown. No injuries were reported.
