Young Limpopo designer aims to take Danielo N Designs nationwide
Danelle Nyelisani, founder of Danielo N Designs, is turning his childhood passion into a growing fashion brand rooted in local pride.
LIMPOPO – For as long as he can remember, Danelle Nyelisani has been obsessed with fashion. Whether it was what he wore, how things were styled, or how clothing made people feel – fashion was always his thing.
Now 26 and the creative force behind Danielo N Designs, Nyelisani’s journey started in Ha-Kutama Midoroni, a village just outside Louis Trichardt.
Inspired by his stylish mom, who always bought him international brands, young Danelle dreamed of designing pieces that people around him could actually relate to.
“I loved the clothes she got me, but I wanted to create something that felt local and personal, something people here could connect with.”
His lightbulb moment came while channel surfing. He stumbled upon ‘Fashion One’, and instantly became hooked on how clothes were made. Soon, he was sketching his own designs for hours on end, and by 2016, he’d convinced his mom to buy him a sewing machine.
That’s when Danielo N Designs was born. “The name is a mix of my own, Danelle Nyelisani, and I wanted something that represents me, my creativity, and my vision,” he told CV.

But the road to building a fashion brand hasn’t been easy. “It’s been a rollercoaster. There’ve been tough days, setbacks and a lot of pressure. But through it all, I’ve stayed focused and learned to adapt.”
Nyelisani has big dreams for his label. “I want to see Danielo N Designs in malls across South Africa. I want it to be a brand that’s known for style, quality, and excellent customer service,” he says.
He’s also passionate about giving back.
“One day, I want to start a school where young people can learn about craftsmanship, design, and business, and use those skills to build sustainable futures. In five years, I see my label as a household name with a strong online presence, loyal customers, and fresh collaborations with other creatives. We’re just getting started,” he concluded.
