VIDEOS: CCTV captures back-to-back armed Sasol robberies in Polokwane

CCTV footage captures two armed robberies at Sasol garages in Polokwane, believed to be carried out by the same group of suspects.

POLOKWANE – Videos are circulating on social media showing two brazen armed robberies at Sasol garages in Polokwane, believed to have been carried out by the same group of armed suspects.

Time stamps on the CCTV footage suggest the first incident took place at around 03:00 at the Sasol garage in Madiba Park, near Seshego, last Thursday (July 31).

In the video, all four suspects can be seen entering the store before employees are assaulted.

Two of the suspects can be seen walking to the tills before they leave.

Just 29 minutes later, at 03:29, the same group allegedly struck again at Sasol on Marshall Street, before reportedly leaving a message threatening to return.

In the video, one of the suspects, armed with a gun, enters the store and assaults the security guard, before a second suspect throws a crate towards his face.

Sasol employees can be seen walking with their hands up before the third suspect enters the store.

Two employees are then escorted to the tills, while the others lay on the floor.

A silver VW Polo with no registration plates was allegedly used as the getaway vehicle.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the robberies may have been targeted attacks.

The Polokwane Review-Observer was referred by the Polokwane police to provincial police for comment on the matter.
