Seshego mourns activist and businessman Vincent Kunutu

Activist Vincent Kunutu, the former chair of Scagac and champion for township development, passed away after a short illness.

POLOKWANE – The Seshego community is mourning the passing of well-known activist and businessman Vincent Kunutu, whose death was confirmed earlier today by close relatives and colleagues.

Kunutu, who reportedly passed away after an illness, was widely respected for his dedication to community development, crime prevention, and youth empowerment across Polokwane.

As the former chairperson of the Seshego Community Against Crime and Gangsterism (Scagac), he was at the forefront of service delivery protests, anti-drug campaigns, and initiatives aimed at improving township life.

Scagac colleague Slight Mabotja confirmed the news, while tributes poured in from government leaders, political figures, the media, and residents.

Many described his passing as a “huge loss” to Seshego and beyond.

Among those paying tribute were Lentswe Laka Foundation, Limpopo Legislature member Thabo Mabotja, and media personality Kwenisto Makgakga, who commended his tireless activism and leadership.
