Seshego water supply disrupted due to vandalism

Seshego and Blood River face water shortages after boreholes feeding the Seshego Water Treatment Plant were vandalised; repairs underway.

POLOKWANE – Residents of Seshego and parts of Blood River may have their water supply affected after boreholes supplying the Seshego Water Treatment Plant were vandalised.

Spokesperson for the municipality, Thipa Selala, says the treatment plant relies heavily on these boreholes, supplemented by the Seshego Dam, to produce sufficient water to meet local demand.

“The vandalism has reduced output capacity, resulting in possible shortages until repairs are completed. Municipal technical teams are currently on site, working to repair the damage and restore normal supply as soon as possible.”

For assistance or to report issues, residents may contact the Water and Sanitation Call Centre at 015 290 2376, send a WhatsApp to 068 290 8736, or use the MyPolokwane Citizen App.
