Armed robbers storm Zebediela filling station in early-morning heist

The police in Moletlane, Zebediela have launched a manhunt after armed robbers hit a filling station, escaping with cash, cellphones and more.

POLOKWANE – A massive manhunt has been launched for a group of armed suspects following a business robbery at a filling station in Moletlane, Zebediela, last night (August 18).

According to the Limpopo police, the suspects stormed the filling station around 04:30 and headed straight to one of the offices.

They were armed with firearms and wore balaclavas.

“The suspects allegedly threatened staff and held some employees and a customer hostage before forcing the manager to open the safe. They made off with an undisclosed amount of money, additional cash from the teller, two cellphones, and a camera memory card before fleeing the scene,” the Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba’s statement read.

He said those with information can contact Detective Constable Billy Nchabeleng on 079 138 3930, the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or use the MySAPSApp.
