Limpopo police condemn murder of baby found burned in Moletjie
The Limpopo police have launched a manhunt after the burned body of a two-week-old baby was found in Moletjie near a local school.
POLOKWANE – The Limpopo police have launched a manhunt following the horrific murder of a newborn baby whose body was found burned beyond recognition in Mashobohleng village.
The tragic discovery was made by a community member near a local school on Friday afternoon (September 5).
The Limpopo police reports the baby, estimated to be just two weeks old, was found burned in the bushes.

“The motive behind this brutal incident is unknown at this stage and we appeal to anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to come forward,” the police spokesperson, Col Maleslea Ledwaba’s statement read.
Meanwhile, the provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, vehemently condemned the murder.
“The recent incidents of leaving newly born babies, alive or deceased, is becoming a serious problem in the province,” she said.
Hadebe urged mothers who feel unable to care for their children to seek help from the Department of Social Development as an alternative to “killing innocent blood.”
