Mapula Legodi celebrates 10 years of confidence and purpose

Polokwane confidence coach Mapula Legodi celebrates 10 years of empowering women through faith, purpose and confidence at her Rest Empowerment Day event.

POLOKWANE – Local entrepreneur and confidence coach, Mapula Legodi marked a major milestone last Sunday with the celebration of her 10-year journey of purpose, perseverance and faith.

The event, titled ‘Rest Empowerment Day’ and held under the hashtag #BasadiBaGesho, took place at the She-Millionaire Wealth Building Training Academy in Flora Park.

Legodi, widely known for her work in confidence coaching and public speaking, described the occasion as a personal reflection and thanksgiving moment. She invited family, friends, fellow businesswomen and women from her church community to join her for the celebration.

Women from across Polokwane gathered to celebrate Mapula Legodi’s 10-year journey of faith, purpose and empowerment.

Guests were treated to a relaxed picnic setting, complete with a variety of finger food platters, snacks, refreshments and massages, making for a day of both empowerment and rest. Legodi, who refers to herself as a ‘confidence activator,’ is the founder of the Confidence Hub, and a leader and pastor at Christ Expression Church in Polokwane.

She was also crowned Mrs Polokwane in 2020.

In an interview with Polokwane Observer, Legodi reflected on the journey.

“With doubts in my heart I started a business in 2015, convinced I was ‘just an employee,’ but here we are, 10 years later, celebrating nothing but the goodness of the Lord,” she said.

She said the celebration was not only for her own journey, but also for the many women who had supported her throughout the years.

“Today we paused to reflect with these wonderful women. I invited the very same ladies who have walked with me to this point in my life,” she added.

Legodi sees this 10-year milestone as a declaration of a new season.

The Rest Empowerment Day event brought together businesswomen, friends and community members under the theme #BasadiBaGesho.

“It’s a reminder that women can express Christ in every area of their lives whether in boardrooms, businesses or beyond. I want women around me to know you can be an employee, a leader, a builder and still be full of fire and purpose,” she said.

She also acknowledged the challenge of running a business while serving in full-time employment for 15 years.

“We’re not just celebrating a business milestone, we’re honouring the grace to do it well, in every space we’ve been called to,” she said.

As the event drew to a close, Legodi shared a message of encouragement with the women present.

“We have pivoted, we have built, we have won awards, we have shown up and we will continue to advocate for confidence, authenticity, and boldness in every space we enter.”

My name is Anne Mametja. I am a mom of four and an identical twin. With a passion for media, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Television Production in 2012 and due to my love for children, I also hold a certificate in Nursing Auxiliary. As media is my first love, I started working at the Polokwane Review as a journalist in 2017 and it has been amazing thus far. I love journalism because I can be a voice to the community through my work. Journalism allows me to meet different people at the events I attend. Although there are certain beats that journalists stick to, being an all-rounder means I write community, schools, sports, hard, lifestyle and entertainment news. It also allows me to be versatile in the newsroom and assist where I can. ‘Journalism can never be silent, that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault.’
