Mankweng’s Solly Moreroa dances his way to global recognition

Mankweng’s Solly Moreroa joined the Tembisa Red Devils to represent SA at the South Africa Focus Week in Singapore.

POLOKWANE – For the 27-year-old Solly Moreroa from Mankweng, dance has been a driving force in achieving his dreams.

Moreroa is a member of the renowned pantsula dance group, the Tembisa Red Devils, which was selected by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture to perform at the South Africa Focus Week in Singapore.

27-year-old dancer Solly Moreroa represented South Africa at the South Africa Focus Week in Singapore.

The cultural showcase, held from October 6-11, was organised by the South African High Commission to strengthen economic and cultural ties between South Africa and Singapore.

Having danced since a young age, Moreroa described the international experience as “out of this world” and a major milestone in his journey.

He joined the Tembisa Red Devils in 2022 and has never looked back. The group has earned accolades both locally and internationally, promoting the uniquely South African pantsula dance style across the world.

Limpopo’s Solly Moreroa says performing internationally with the Tembisa Red Devils was “a dream come true.”

“It’s a dream come true. I’m excited to be part of a hard-working team – people who love dance and use it to uplift themselves and their families,” he said.
