Polokwane gears up for Kaizer Chiefs vs Zamalek SC football thriller

Football excitement hits Polokwane as Kaizer Chiefs and Zamalek SC meet in a high-stakes CAF Confederation Cup fixture this month.

POLOKWANE – Football fans in the city are in for a major treat this month as the CAF Confederation Cup brings two of Africa’s biggest clubs to the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.

Kaizer Chiefs will host Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in a high-stakes clash set to light up Polokwane on November 29, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.

The match is expected to attract thousands of supporters from across Limpopo and beyond.

Kaizer Chiefs enter the fixture with strong home support and the advantage of familiar turf at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.

Zamalek SC, one of Africa’s most decorated clubs, promises a tough contest as both teams vie for crucial points in the Confederation Cup group stages.

“Chiefs will be aiming to secure maximum points from their opening two encounters, with the top two teams in the group set to advance to the knockout stages of this season’s continental showpiece,” a statement on Chiefs’ website reads.

The event is expected to contribute positively to Polokwane’s economy, particularly for hospitality, transport, and retail sectors.

Large crowds are anticipated and fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.

Tickets are available for R80 and can be purchased via Computicket or in store at Shoprite, Usave, and Checkers outlets.

“Supporters from across the land are encouraged to get their tickets early so they can fill up the New Peter Mokaba stadium and avoid the Black Friday rush at the shops,” Chiefs said.
