Burnt body found in Limpopo forest sparks manhunt
Limpopo police are searching for suspects after a body was found burnt beyond recognition in the Manenzhe forest on Thursday morning.
LIMPOPO – The police in Masisi have launched a manhunt following the discovery of a burnt body in the Manenzhe forest on Thursday at around 07:00.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Col Malesela Ledwaba said residents alerted the police after discovering what appeared to be a human body dumped in the forest.
The Makuya police, who were already tracing a missing person reported on November 25, joined the Masisi police at the scene.
“Upon arrival, they found the victim’s body almost completely burnt, the perpetrators apparently having used vehicle tyres.
The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending further investigations.
The police have opened a case of murder, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to track down the perpetrators,” he confirmed.
