Police launch manhunt after Mankweng fatal shooting
Mankweng police launch a manhunt after a deadly shooting at a Ga-Magowa liquor outlet, urging the public to help identify the perpetrator.
LIMPOPO – Mankweng police are appealing to the community for assistance in tracking down an unidentified man in connection with a murder and attempted murder at a liquor outlet in the early hours of Saturday (December 6).
Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, says officers were on patrol when they received a report of a shooting at a liquor outlet in Ga-Magowa village. When they arrived, they found that two men had sustained gunshot wounds.
“Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene and declared a 31-year-old man dead upon arrival. The second victim, a 36-year-old man, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.”
According to reports, the two victims were sitting inside the yard when a man entered, opened fire on them, and fled the scene on foot.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear at this stage, and a manhunt has since been launched to trace the perpetrator.
