Polokwane officials intercept unroadworthy bus on N1
PTCC officers stopped a bus from Malawi travelling to Gauteng, finding a copied license disc, expired permit, and two missing wheels on its driving axle.
POLOKWANE – Polokwane Traffic Control Centre officers intercepted an unroadworthy bus travelling from Malawi on the N1 highway towards Gauteng on Sunday (January 19), preventing a significant risk to passengers and other motorists.
Spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Matome Taueatsoala, says a compliance check revealed multiple critical violations.
The bus was operating with a copied license disc that did not match its VIN, and its operating license had expired in July, 2025.

The vehicle was also found to have two wheels missing from its driving axle, rendering it unsafe for travel.
The driver and operator have been detained for further investigation and face legal action.
