Polokwane honours top matric as she heads to UCT

Polokwane Municipality has honoured top matriculant Paballo Makokga with bursary support and a send-off as she begins her studies at UCT.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane Municipality has congratulated top matriculant Paballo Makokga as she prepares to begin her studies at the University of Cape Town.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala shared that Executive Mayor Makoro John Mpe bade farewell to Paballo, the city’s top matriculant from Noorderland High School, during a special send-off this morning.

Selala said the municipality, through the Executive Mayor’s Excellence Awards, has invested in Makokga’s academic future by providing a comprehensive bursary and support package to assist her transition into university life.

The support included transport to OR Tambo International Airport, flights to Cape Town, and essential learning equipment such as laptops, tablets, a router and a power bank. Additional items included vouchers and branded gifts.

In recognition of her academic excellence, Paballo was also treated to a weekend getaway at Euphoria Golf Estate.

Selala said the municipality is proud of Makokga’s achievements and expressed confidence that she would continue to inspire young people in Polokwane and beyond.
