Competitive spirit high at Polokwane Round Table Golf Day

The Round Table Golf Day at Polokwane Golf Club drew 108 players, with 27 teams battling for top spot in a four-ball alliance.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Golf Club came alive last Friday as 108 golfers participated in the Round Table Golf Day.

A total of 27 teams competed in a four-ball alliance format, combining their scores in pursuit of top honours.

The event saw friendly competition with networking, as players teed off in high spirits.

Golfers also tested their precision in the longest drive and nearest-to-the-pin challenges.

Brad Newham claimed the longest drive on the fifth hole with a powerful performance, while Charl Visser secured nearest to the pin on the eighth hole.

Christo Stears followed with a precise shot to win nearest to the pin on the 11th, and Danie Bouwer (Jr) earned top honours for the longest drive on the 13th hole.

After the final putts, players gathered for dinner and the prize-giving ceremony to celebrate the winners.

Taking first place with a combined score of 106 were Marcel Meyer, Clifford Mogale, Johan Muller and J. Venter.

Finishing second, also on 106, were Mario and Sheralyn Janse van Rensburg, Joline Bothma and Fred Hurter.

Third place went to Eben Redelinghuys, Justin du Bruyn, JP Morton and Danie Streicher with a score of 105.
