Malesela Primary School to introduce coding and robotics in 2026
Malesela Primary School plans to expand coding and robotics programmes in 2026, equipping learners with necessary digital skills.
LIMPOPO – Malesela Primary School has announced plans to introduce and expand coding and robotics programmes as part of its 2026 strategic vision.
The school says it recognises that education extends beyond traditional classroom learning. While continuing to prioritise core subjects such as mathematics, languages and natural sciences, it is also embracing innovation and 21st century skills.
Principal Molefo Winter Motlatla said the school is strengthening both curricular and co-curricular activities this year, including technology-focused programmes.
“Guided by our belief that unity is power, we remain committed to providing holistic education that prepares our learners for a rapidly changing world,” he said.
Through coding and robotics, learners will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, enhance creativity and innovation, and build teamwork and collaboration abilities. The programmes will also provide foundational digital and technological literacy.
Motlatla said the initiative aims to empower pupils to become creators of technology rather than just consumers.
“By integrating technology into our curriculum, we are preparing our learners for future careers in a digital world. Equipping them with modern skills such as coding and robotics opens doors to limitless possibilities.”
In addition to technology-driven initiatives, the school will continue promoting sport, arts, cultural activities and leadership development as part of its holistic approach.
Motlatla encouraged teachers to embrace innovation, learners to explore new skills with curiosity, and parents to support the new developments.
“Together, through unity and shared commitment, we will ensure that every child receives quality, relevant and future-ready education,” he concluded.
