Noorderland learners smash blood donation target

Noorderland High's blood drive exceeded its goal with 65 units, as learners stepped up to save lives and address local hospital shortages.

POLOKWANE – Noorderland High School learners on Friday contributed to a successful blood drive that saw learners step forward to donate and save lives.

The drive exceeded expectations, with the school collecting 65 units of blood, surpassing their target of 53 units. The initiative drew a strong turnout from learners, all eager to contribute to the noble cause.

Learners participated enthusiastically, understanding the crucial role each donation plays in helping hospitals and patients in need.

Phenyo Mphogo, one of the donors, explained his motivation: “I donated blood because I understand that my donation can save lives. I plan to continue contributing to this good cause.”

The school praised the learners for their generosity and commitment, noting that the drive not only helped address local blood shortages but also promoted a culture of service and compassion among young people.
