Exploring Without Limits: Putting Vhembe on the map

From Shayandima to Mozambique, Exploring Without Limits offers adventure tourism, cultural exchange, and unique experiences.

LIMPOPO – Although he holds a national diploma in mechanical engineering, the 33-year-old Hulisani Mushiane from Shayandima township near Thohoyandou has built a career in tourism.

From Shayandima streets to adventure feats

He is the co-founder of Exploring Without Limits, a company focused on adventure travel, social entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange.

He said his journey in tourism spans seven years, during which he has forged relationships with local communities in countries such as Mozambique.

Trips, experiences, and success

“My goal is to grow tourism in undiscovered or underprivileged areas, creating opportunities and giving back while offering unique travel experiences.

“We host group trips in and out of South Africa such as hikes, camps, events and vacations.

“Our main presence is in Mozambique, where most of our revenue comes from and where we host an annual party weekend on the beach,” he said.

He attributes his success to building strong personal connections with clients.

“Understanding why people choose us and delivering that experience is key.

“We commercialised hiking in Vhembe, and we push our clients to try new things, like swimming in a river for the first time safely, with life jackets.

“That sense of achievement makes the experiences unforgettable,” Mushiane explained.

Reflecting on a milestone, Mushiane said: “Hosting our first party weekend in Bilene, Mozambique last September with 52 clients from South Africa and hundreds of locals was incredible.

“The inspiration comes from exploring what God has created and seeing how people experience life and faith differently across the world.”
