Shebeshxt appears in court with fresh legal representation following denied bail and appeal; next hearing set for May 15.

POLOKWANE – Musician Lehlogonolo ‘Shebeshxt’ Chauke appeared at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today, March 27, with a new legal representative, Adv Michael Khumalo.

Shebeshxt brings in new legal counsel

Khumalo told the court that he has informed Chauke’s former lawyers from Ramusi Attorneys, as well as the court, that he will now be representing the accused.

He also indicated that they intend to submit a new bail application following developments in the case.

This comes after Chauke’s bail application was denied in December, and his appeal was rejected in January this year.

The case has been transferred to the Regional Court, with the next appearance scheduled for May 15.

Bail application postponed as court officials unavailable

However, with Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi and state prosecutor Adv Kgaogelo Lekoloane unavailable for proceedings on Friday, the bail application could not be heard.

Chauke remains in custody.
