N1 closed after serious two-vehicle crash
The N1 near Lunds in Polokwane is closed after a serious accident; motorists are advised to use the R101 as an alternative route.

The road has been opened. The Department of Transport confirms that both drivers have died and a passenger sustained minor injuries.
They think the collision was caused by one of the drivers losing control.

POLOKWANE – The N1 road near Lunds in Polokwane is currently closed following a serious two-vehicle collision. Emergency services and traffic officers are on the scene.
Potential injuries and fatalities have been reported, according to Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety spokesperson, Mashudu Mabata.

Alternative routes:
Travelling from Gauteng to Polokwane:
Off-ramp at Nyl-Plaza and use the R101 route to Polokwane.
Travelling from Polokwane southwards:
Use the R101 route towards Mokopane and rejoin the N1 at Nyl-Plaza.
