Limpopo insurance murders: Bail application postponed
Polokwane Magistrate's Court postpones bail application in the insurance murders case as state needs more time to investigate affidavits.

POLOKWANE – The bail application in a R10 million insurance court case was postponed at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on April 17.
Defence attorney Ndamulelo Tharini, representing accused No 7 David Kutumela (53), read his client’s affidavit in court. Kutumela is the husband of co-accused Rachel Kutumela.
He pleaded with the court to grant him R3 000 bail, stating that he has five minors who all depend on him, as both he and his wife have been incarcerated.
The defence for accused No 4, Tibani, was not available.
Investigating officer, Captain Keshi Mabunda, opposed the bail application proceeding, stating that he still wants to read the affidavits presented by the defence for further investigation.
He told the court that one of the applicants was married to one of the victims.
The magistrate postponed the bail application to grant the state an opportunity to finalise their investigation together with the investigating officer.
The matter was postponed to May 12 and reserved from May 13-15.
The accused are to remain in custody.
