Shebeshxt’s absence felt at Lekompo Balcony Mix, fans say

Fans at the Lekompo Balcony Mix say the event lacks energy without jailed musician Shebeshxt, who has lost three bail applications.

POLOKWANE – Saturday’s Lekompo Balcony Mix was incomplete due to the absence of music superstar Lehlogonolo Katlego “Shebeshxt” Chauke, his fans have told Polokwane Observer.

He has lost up to three bail applications due to failure to prove exceptional circumstances in his multi-charged criminal case, which includes several attempted murder offences.

He was arrested in November last year and has since left his fans, many of whom have signed a failed petition for the courts to grant him bail, wanting more.

Though he has attended only a few at the mix’s main venue, Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, his fans argue his absence has affected attendance, compared to before.

Here’s what the fans say

“The feeling that Shebe is not here is worrying. That man is a big boss in Lekompo. With his absence, we don’t enjoy as much.”

“Right now, when the DJs play Shebe’s songs, we cannot dance freely because we feel his absence. He cannot give us that motivation like when he’d be here. I feel awkward about it.”

“We are hurt. Hitboss made it fun for us, but that final piece isn’t here.”
