POLOKWANE – Polokwane Municipality has received an update from Lepelle Northern Water regarding the ongoing repairs to the major pipe burst affecting water supply to Ga-Chuene, Thokgwaneng, the City and Seshego.

The bulk water supplier has confirmed that the appointed contractor is currently working on site. During the repair process, additional leaks were identified on a different pipe, necessitating the removal of a second pipe to facilitate the required repairs.

Completion expected Thursday morning

Lepelle Northern Water has indicated that, despite these additional challenges, the contractor estimates that the repair work will be completed in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Restoration of water supply will be subject to the successful completion of the repairs and the subsequent recommissioning of the system.

Municipality to provide temporary relief

The municipality continues to monitor developments and will provide temporary relief and communicate further updates as information becomes available.
