POLOKWANE – New law enforcement vehicles will be handed over to traffic officers in Polokwane today as Limpopo steps up efforts to improve road safety and officer visibility across the province.

The official handover, taking place at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium parking area, will see Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and MEC for Transport and Community Safety Nakedi Kekana lead the ceremony.

The vehicles form part of the Department of Transport and Community Safety’s 24/7 shift system, which is aimed at ensuring a stronger law enforcement presence on the province’s roads.

According to the department, the initiative is intended to increase the visibility of traffic officers and contribute to reducing motor vehicle crash fatalities.

The handover comes as traffic authorities continue efforts to strengthen enforcement and improve road safety across Limpopo.
