Proceeds of Noordeland concert to go to choir and gumboot dancers
The R8 000 raised at Noorderland High School's concert will go towards instruments and other equipment for the choir and the school's gumboot dancers.
POLOKWANE – In celebration of various cultures we have in Limpopo, Noorderland High School hosted a choir concert last Friday where various schools were invited to be part of the event.
Gr 10-12 teacher and event organiser Rally Kakaza said that the school noticed that no other activities are done to interact or entertain their learners besides such competitions, hence the idea of hosting the event.

“We charged an entrance fee to raise money for our choir to purchase instruments and other equipment they will need to have a complete group,” Rally said.

The school managed to raise R8 000 that will go towards the choir as well as the gumboots group. “We appreciate everyone who attended the event and made it possible to raise the money. It will definitely go to good use and we’re delighted to know that we will now be able to add more instruments and equipment towards the groups,” she said.

Schools that participated in the choir concert were: Capricorn High School, Northern Academy Secondary School, Taxila Secondary School, Derek Kobe Technical High School, Kgakoa Senior Secondary School, Mmakgabo Senior Secondary School, Moruleng Secondary School as well as the University of Limpopo.
