The team shared the trophy and gold medals with Laerskool Ivypark after their final match of the season ended in a draw.

POLOKWANE – The u/13 hockey coach of Pietersburg Comprehensive School, Maria Mavalela said they are happy with the efforts and commitment shown by their hockey team throughout the Limpopo primary schools hockey league which ended in September.

The team shared the trophy and gold medals with Laerskool Ivypark after their final match of the season ended in a draw.

The exciting match was played at Hoërskool Pietersburg’s astro hockey field.

Mavalela said next season they don’t want to share the trophy with any school but win all their matches convincingly.

“We want to do well next year. We will include new players in the team because the bulk of the team is moving on to secondary school next year. We hope to put together another strong team that can win us the trophies.”

Principal Rudi Fick said he is proud of the team’s efforts and skills they displayed during the league.

“They did well in all the matches leading up to the final. We must also thank the teachers, coaches and parents for their support. They worked well together and wish the team well in the league next year.”
